On December 2, 2021, ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄ President-Elect and Director of the Idaho Department of Insurance Dean Cameron participated virtually in the Taiwan Insurance Institute’s (TII) Insurance and Economic Development Forum, giving remarks on the β€œNew Blue Ocean of the Insurance Industry After the Epidemic”. Director Cameron provided an update on key ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄ priorities for 2021 and 2022, and discussed how insurance supervisors and insurers are considering the topics of Climate Resiliency, Innovation, Artifical Intelligence/Big Data, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. He also highlighted the importance of bilateral dialogues and international cooperation as work continues both domestically and internationally to address these areas.

ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄ the ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄

As part of our state-based system of insurance regulation in the United States, the ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄ (ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄) provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers. The U.S. standard-setting organization is governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. Through the ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer reviews, and coordinate regulatory oversight. ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄ staff supports these efforts and represents the collective views of state regulators domestically and internationally.
